As the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) entered the 20-day countdown, the "2025 CIIE-Aligned Shanghai Investment Promotion Exchange Conference" was successfully held at the Shanghai Tower on the afternoon of October 15. He Dongbin, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Xu Xin, Deputy District Mayor of Pudong New Area, attended and delivered speeches. Ge Hong, Deputy Director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, introduced the preparation progress of the 8th CIIE on-site. Representative from the Shanghai Commissioner’s Office of the Ministry of Commerce was also invited to attend. Syn Tan, Chairman of MayCham China in Shanghai, and Yap Chi Hui, Senior Advisor, were invited to participate in the event.

He Dongbin stated that the CIIE is not only a key practice for China to advance global economic governance, but also a bridge for enterprises from all countries to share opportunities in China and achieve win-win cooperation. As the first major national-level international exhibition after the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, this year’s CIIE has attracted widespread attention. He introduced that during this year’s CIIE, Shanghai will host the "Shanghai City Investment Promotion Conference", "CIIE Shanghai Conference" and nearly 100 thematic side meetings. These events will conduct in-depth exchanges around cutting-edge topics such as an open economy, green and low-carbon development, and digital trade, providing a platform for global investors to engage in ideological exchanges and practical cooperation. Xu Xin pointed out that Pudong has always provided high-standard services to ensure the CIIE becomes "better and better". This year marks the 35th anniversary of Pudong’s development and opening-up. At this important juncture, extending the communication mechanism of the exchange conference to Pudong will help further leverage the platform effect of the CIIE, support enterprises in actively participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and deepen international economic and trade cooperation. Pudong adheres to the principle of attaching equal importance to "bringing in" and "going global". At the conference, Stuart Dunn, Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in China (Shanghai), and Syn Tan, Chairman of MayCham China in Shanghai, shared their experiences and gains in participating in the CIIE as representatives of Shanghai-based investment promotion agencies. Syn Tan first briefly introduced the functions of MayCham China in Shanghai – as a bridge connecting the business communities of China and Malaysia, the chamber has long been committed to promoting in-depth cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in trade, investment, technological cooperation and other fields.
陈汉珅特别提及，商会计划于今年 11 月举办 “2025 中马商业论坛”，论坛将聚焦“东盟-中国：共享未来”议题，邀请中马两国政府部门代表、行业龙头企业负责人及专家学者共同参与，为两国及该地区的企业搭建一个精准对话的合作平台。
Syn Tan specifically mentioned that the chamber plans to organize the "2025 Malaysia-China Business Forum" in November. Focusing on the theme of "ASEAN-China: Our Shared Future", the forum will invite representatives from government departments of China and Malaysia, leaders of industry-leading enterprises, and experts and scholars to participate, building a precise dialogue and cooperation platform for enterprises of the two countries and the region.
另外，关于马来西亚参与本届进博会的具体计划，陈汉珅介绍，马来西亚展团本届将聚焦食品和农产品、消费品、医疗设备和医疗保健产品及服务贸易等类别，同步将举办国际清真食品展（MIHAS），目标总销售额 15 亿马币、吸引 250 家参展商。 In addition, regarding Malaysia’s specific plans for participating in this year’s CIIE, Syn Tan introduced that the Malaysian delegation will focus on categories such as food and agricultural products, consumer goods, medical equipment, healthcare products, and trade in services. It will also host the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) concurrently, with the goals of achieving a total sales volume of 1.5 billion Malaysian Ringgit and attracting 250 exhibitors.

Xue Feng, Director of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center, released the "2025 CIIE-Aligned Shanghai Investment Visiting Routes and Investment Promotion Activities", which include 59 characteristic visiting routes and 43 high-quality investment promotion activities. Pudong New Area, Lin-gang Special Area, Putuo District, and Baoshan District respectively gave special promotions on their key investment promotion policies and business environments. The Administrative Bureau of the Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone also made a special promotion on its construction and operation status as well as the policies for the opening ceremony.
